Poor design details and substandard construction practices can lead to water intrusion, resulting in biological growth. If left unattended, complete façade demolition and reconstruction may be necessary. Although topical protection can be a solution, in some instances the structure is unfortunately too far gone.
Our team has experience in replacing metal roofs, metal stud wall assemblies, aluminum windows/doors, aluminum railing, hard coat stucco and more. Let us work in concert with a designer to assist with discovery and offer a contractor's perspective on cost, material technology and critical weatherproofing details.
WxP was called into this multi-phase project by the Structural Engineer of Record (EOR) after they conducted a discovery phase revealing that floor trusses in the building were deficient in a multitude of ways, resulting in truss sagging. WxP removed ceiling systems to expose trusses and all of their connection points; documented the conditions of each truss member and connection for the structural EOR. Utilizing hydraulic jacks and shoring posts, WxP repaired the deficient trusses per structural EOR’s direction, reinstalled the ceiling system (insulation, hat channel, drywall), and made the apartments move-in ready for tenants to re-occupy.
